Mobil Rarus™ 829

Compressor oil for piston compressors

Main applications of Mobil Rarus ™ 829 are:

• + All types of air compressors, but specifically recommended for a reciprocating air compressor
• + Units that work under severe conditions
• + Multistage units with a history of excessive oil degradation of products based on mineral oil
• + They can be used for the lubrication of cylinders and crankcases
• + Compressor systems with critical gears and bearings

The Mobil Rarus 829 oils are recommended for single and multi-stage air compressors but are not recommended for air compressors used in compressed breathing air applications. They are particularly effective for continuously high temperatures with discharge temperatures of up to 200ºC.

Application considerations: Mobil EAL Arctic Series oils are hygroscopic and measures must be taken to prevent the absorption of moisture. Packages should be tightly sealed when not in use and small packages are preferred. The product should not be placed in a plastic container if this can absorb moisture. Mobil EAL Arctic Series oils are recommended for refrigeration systems where refrigerants containing HFC or carbon dioxide are used. Typical applications are: Domestic refrigeration such as refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners and heat pumps. Commercial refrigeration systems such as air conditioners in offices, shopping centres and hotels and in mobile refrigeration systems. Industrial applications such as food preparation and freezing and refrigeration applications.

We developed Klübersynth GE 46-1200 on the basis of our long experience in the lubrication of spur, bevel and worm gears. Especially for steel/steel combinations, for example in small and miniature gears, gear motors and power tool gears, Klübersynth GE 46-1200 offers outstanding performance characteristics. Medium peripheral speeds of 4-5 m/s can be effectively handled by this grease. It also provides vibration and noise damping. Klübersynth GE 46-1200 can also be used to optimise the lubrication of ball and roller guides, plain and rolling bearings, and toothed couplings from – 30 to 120 °C. It may even be applied at extreme temperatures down to -50 °C since Klübersynth GE 46-1200 will build up a load-carrying lubricant film at these low temperature conditions.

Under these conditions Aircol SN compressor oils offer reduced carbon forming tendencies and extended oil life when compared to mineral oils due to their much higher oxidation resistance. In reciprocating units, Aircol SN grades have up to eight times the service life of mineral oils.

The Optigear Synthetic 800 range is especially suited to reservoirs and circulation systems operating at high temperatures because of heat generated in severe service or high temperatures in the application. Optigear Synthetic 800 are intended for all types of heavily loaded gears including spur, bevel and worm gears. Although well suited for all types of gearing and bearings, the Optigear Synthetic 800 range is particularly effective in controlling wear and reducing friction between sliding surfaces. PLANTOSYN 68 HVI field of applications:

PLANTOSYN HVI oils are rapidly biodegradable synthetic saturated ester oils. They can be used in all applications in mobile and stationary hydraulic units where the use of biodegradable synthetic ester based hydraulic oil according to ISO 15380 HEES is recommended. The PLANTOSYN HVI products should be used where oil leakage or oil spillage will give a soil or water pollution. PLANTOSYN HVI products can be used as an alternative to conventional HLP/HM hydraulic oils. The changing over procedures according ISO 15380 have to be observed.

Klüber Summit SH 32

Synthetic air compressor oils for oil change intervals up to 10,000 operating hours

Application Klüber Summit SH 32

Klüber Summit SH oils have been designed especially for the lubrication of highly loaded, oil-injected screw-type compressors with oil change intervals up to 10,000 operating hours. Klüber Summit SH oils can also be used for compressors that were previously run with mineral oils. They are neutral towards most elastomer seals used in air compressors, therefore leakage is not to be expected. Klüber Summit SH 32 is especially suitable for centrifugal compressors and Klüber Summit SH 100 for reciprocating piston compressors. Klüber Summit SH oils offer good oxidation stability due to the synthetic base oil, thus minimizing oxidation residues in the compressors and extending oil change intervals and the service life of oil filters and separators. Special inhibitors contained in the oils keep the inside of compressors clean. Owing to the evaporation stability of the base oil, the oil vapour content in the compressed air can be considerably reduced compared to conventional mineral oils. This contributes to a reduction of oil consumption and clean compressed air; gumming of pneumatic valves in the compressed air circuit can be prevented as well due to the low oil content of the Klüber Summit SH oils.
