CASTROL Alphasyn PG 460

Application CASTROL Alphasyn PG 460

Alphasyn PG gear oils are primarily intended for use in worm reduction gear boxes, where the low coefficient of friction of the PAG base fluid improves efficiency and consequently reduces power consumption and operating temperatures. This is particularly important in applications where sliding contact is high. The use of a PAG base stock provides inherently high Viscosity Index (VI) and low pour points making these products suitable for use over a wide temperature range. Alphasyn PG meets the requirements of most OEM’s that allow the use of PAG based gear oils.

Aeroshell Grease 64

AeroShell Grease 64 comprises AeroShell Grease 33 fortified with 5% molybdenum disulphide. It possesses the enhanced anti-wear and anti-corrosion properties of AeroShell Grease 33 with the added EP (Extreme Pressure) properties provided by the addition of a solid lubricant. The useful operating temperature range is –73°C to +121°C.

Application Aeroshell Grease 64

AeroShell Grease 33 has established itself as the answer to most of the airframe’s General Purpose, airframe greasing requirements, being approved for use in Boeing, Airbus and many other aircraft types. It sets the standard with exceptional anti-corrosion and anti-wear performance while allowing aircraft operators to shrink their grease inventory and reduce the risk of misapplication. However, there remains a small number of highly loaded, sliding applications on the airframe where the additional boost of molybdenum disulphide will always be required. To address this need, Shell Aviation has developed AeroShell Grease 64. Sharing the same advanced grease technology as its parent, AeroShell Grease 64 also possesses the extreme pressure (EP) characteristics provided by molybdenum disulphide.

Application Considerations: While the Mobil SHC Gear 1500, 3200, and 6800 are compatible with mineral oil based products, admixture may detract from their performance. Consequently it is recommended that before changing a system to one of the Mobil SHC Gear 1500, 3200, or 6800 lubricants, it should be thoroughly cleaned out and flushed to achieve the maximum performance benefits. Mobil SHC Gear 1500, 3200, and 6800 oils are recommended for all types of enclosed steel-on-steel gear drives. They are suitable for both circulation and splash lubrication systems. They are particularly recommended for gear sets operating under heavy or shock loads and low speeds where boundary lubrication may prevail. Applications for this product family are: Mobil SHC Gear 1500, 3200 and 6800 - Industrial enclosed spur, helical and bevel gears, especially slow speed, and/or high load units. Mobil SHC Gear 1500, 3200 and 6800 - Plain and rolling element bearings, especially in slow speed, and/or high load applications. Mobil SHC Gear 3200 and 6800 - Railroad DC Traction Motor drives. Mobil SHC Gear 3200 and 6800 - Certain open gear applications such as oiling pinions or specially designed circulation systems.

Castrol Aircol SN compressor lubricants are formulated to cope with the severe operating conditions experienced in rotary screw, rotary vane and reciprocating air compressors operating at high compression ratios and high discharge temperatures. Under these conditions Aircol SN compressor oils offer reduced carbon forming tendencies and extended oil life when compared to mineral oils due to their much higher oxidation resistance. In reciprocating units, Aircol SN grades have up to eight times the service life of mineral oils.

Aeroshell Grease 6

AeroShell Grease 6 is a general purpose grease composed of a mineral oil thickened with Microgel®, possessing good all-round properties within a limited range. It is inhibited against oxidation and corrosion and has good water resistance and low noise capability. The useful operating temperature range is –40°C to +121°C

Mobil Rarus™ 829

Compressor oil for piston compressors

Main applications of Mobil Rarus ™ 829 are:

Application considerations: Mobil EAL Arctic Series oils are hygroscopic and measures must be taken to prevent the absorption of moisture. Packages should be tightly sealed when not in use and small packages are preferred. The product should not be placed in a plastic container if this can absorb moisture. Mobil EAL Arctic Series oils are recommended for refrigeration systems where refrigerants containing HFC or carbon dioxide are used. Typical applications are: Domestic refrigeration such as refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners and heat pumps. Commercial refrigeration systems such as air conditioners in offices, shopping centres and hotels and in mobile refrigeration systems. Industrial applications such as food preparation and freezing and refrigeration applications.
