Klüber Summit DSL oils are used for compressors that were previously run with conventional mineral oils. These oils are neutral towards most elastomer seals used in air compressors, therefore leakage is not to be expected. Klüber Summit DSL 32 oils are mainly used in reciprocating piston compressors which do not achieve the desired maintenance intervals when using mineral oils or which show severe residue formation (carbon buildups) on valves and in the compression chamber. Klüber Summit DSL 32, 46, and 68 are biodegradable and can therefore be used in eco-sensitive applications. For industry, workshops, automobiles, motorcycles. Used as lubricating oil, for bearings, slideways, chains, locks and hinges. A thin film is sufficient to reduce friction and wear. Used as penetrating oil, QUIETSCH EX penetrates well into cracks and even reaches friction points of difficult access. Used as rust remover, QUIETSCH EX loosens rust on screws, hinges and bolts such that they can be undone without damage. The fluid spreads quickly and penetrates into the surfaces. Light rust will be loosened rapidly but heavy rust will require a wait. Used as anticorrosion agent, QUIETSCH EX protects machinery, equipment, tools, vehicles etc. that are not used for a longer period of time (e.g. in winter time) reliably against corrosion. Used as freezing protection, QUIETSCH EX prevents freezing of locks, cables, car doors, gates etc. at temperatures as low as –30°C (if applied on parts beforehand). Used as cleaning oil, for heavily contaminated machine elements, QUIETSCH EX penetrates into machine parts and removes dirt. Used as cutting oil, QUIETSCH EX ensures clean cutting and precision drilling in synthetic materials and metal. A small quantity of this universal fluid on the saw or drill is sufficient to make the tool cut easier through the material. This facilitates work and extends the tool's service life.

Klüber Summit RPS 52 has been designed especially for the lubrication of screw-type compressors in refrigerating plants using ammonia (R 717) and dry evaporation. Unlike mineral oils and polyalphaolefins, Klüber Summit RPS 52 is miscible with ammonia, thus the oil entrained in the refrigeration cycle is recycled to the compressor together with the refrigerant. Therefore, it is no longer necessary to have oil catches in the refrigeration cycle, like in the case of nonmiscible oils. Especially in the evaporator of the refrigeration cycle such miscibility helps to reliably recycle the oil to the compressor at low evaporator temperatures. Owing to the synthetic base oil of Summit RPS 52 oil carryover into the refrigeration cycle is much lower than with conventional mineral oils. Therefore, oil-related problems in the refrigeration cycle are prevented right from the beginning. The base oil of Klüber Summit RPS 52 stands out for its stability to ammonia – the typical blackening of conventional mineral oils or deposits in the refrigeration cycle are prevented and oil change intervals can be extended considerably. Our experience gained in practice has shown that Klüber Summit RPS 52 can be used for evaporating temperatures as low as -40°C depending on the operating conditions. Klüber Summit RPS 52 protects against wax-like deposits, thus increasing the efficiency of the refrigeration plant.

Plastic components Klüberalfa DH 3 oils are suitable for the lubrication of both plastic components and metal-plastic sliding contact surfaces. These clear, colourless and odourless oils do not form unwanted resins. Klüberalfa DH 3 oils are generally regarded as neutral towards elastomers and plastics (possible exception: perfluorinated rubber), so no negative effect on the material is to be expected. Nevertheless compatibility with the materials should be tested, especially prior to series application.

Klüber Summit R series lubricants have been designed especially for highly loaded screw-type and reciprocating piston compressors which are operated with ammonia (R717) or CO2 (R744). These lubricants can also be used with natural hydrocarbon refrigerants like propane (R290), propylene (R1270) or butane (R600). Especially with these refrigerants, the solubility of the gas in the oil under operating conditions and the resulting drop in viscosity has to be taken into account. Klüber Lubrication would be pleased to assist you in selecting the most appropriate oil. Due to the synthetic base oil contained in the Klüber Summit R series lubricants, oil carryover into the refrigeration cycle is much lower than with conventional mineral oils, which helps to reduce oil consumption. The viscosity of the oils remains constant for a long time, due to the fact that only a few highly volatile fractions are contained in the oil. Oil changes due to the increase in viscosity can be extended considerably. The base oil offers high chemical stability, particularly to ammonia, the typical blackening of conventional mineral oils or deposits in the refrigeration cycle are prevented. Our experience gained in practice has shown that Klüber Summit 200 can be used for evaporating temperatures as low as ≥-50°C depending on the operating conditions.
