High-temperature greases with good long-term characteristics

Application Klüber BARRIERTA I MI-202

Rolling and plain bearings operating at elevated temperature BARRIERTA I greases attain long service lives when used in rolling and plain bearings operating under high thermal stress. The fine thickener and the high oil content enable smooth running of bearings also at high speeds and ensure a long life of the lubricated components. Typical fields of application are in film stretchers; textile stenter frames; precision engineering; clean-room engineering (e.g. microchip manufacture) The low vapour pressures of BARRIERTA I greases make them also recommendable for use in fine to ultra-high vacuum. Electrical contacts BARRIERTA I EL-102 and BARRIERTA I MI-202 have proven successful for the long-term lubrication of electrical contacts in high and medium-voltage switchboards. Component tests have shown that plug and unplug forces are consistent without unduly influencing transition resistance. There are no known decomposition products that would have an insulating effect on the contacts. Behaviour towards plastics and elastomers BARRIERTA I greases of all viscosity grades are widely neutral towards elastomers and plastics (possible exception: highly fluorinated rubber). Nevertheless, compatibility with the materials should be tested, especially prior to series application

Application Klüber Summit SH 100

Klüber Summit SH oils have been designed especially for the lubrication of highly loaded, oil-injected screw-type compressors with oil change intervals up to 10,000 operating hours. Klüber Summit SH oils can also be used for compressors that were previously run with mineral oils. They are neutral towards most elastomer seals used in air compressors, therefore leakage is not to be expected. Klüber Summit SH 32 is especially suitable for centrifugal compressors and Klüber Summit SH 100 for reciprocating piston compressors. Klüber Summit SH oils offer good oxidation stability due to the synthetic base oil, thus minimizing oxidation residues in the compressors and extending oil change intervals and the service life of oil filters and separators. Special inhibitors contained in the oils keep the inside of compressors clean. Owing to the evaporation stability of the base oil, the oil vapour content in the compressed air can be considerably reduced compared to conventional mineral oils. This contributes to a reduction of oil consumption and clean compressed air; gumming of pneumatic valves in the compressed air circuit can be prevented as well due to the low oil content of the Klüber Summit SH oils.

Klüberbio LG 39-701 N was developed for the lubrication of open gear drives and rack-and-pinion drives as well as for sliding surfaces with high surface pressure. The product can be used in maritime applications requiring good eco-compatibility, a good anticorrosive effect and/or high load-carrying capacity, e.g. in open anchor winch drives, rack and pinions in jack-up lifting systems, slow-moving plain bearings, stern roller bearings on AHTS vessels or rudder systems.

Klüberfluid D-F 1 ULTRA was specially developed for repair lubrication of damaged open gears. It is also highly suitable for rapid running-in of new or newly aligned gear sets such as those used with rotary kilns, tube kilns and winches, for example in the cement industry, power generation, mining, chemical industry, paper and sugar industry as well as the marine sector.

Klüber Summit Supra Coolant and Klüber Summit Supra 32 have been especially designed for oil change intervals up to 8,000 operating hours in oil-injected screw-type compressors which are prefilled by the manufacturer with polyglycol oil. Due to the specific viscosity and special formulation, Klüber Summit Supra 32 is also suitable for the lubrication of turbocompressors. Klüber Summit Supra 26 N was especially developed for turbocompressors in order to meet the OEMs' viscosity requirements. An oil change interval of up to 40,000 operating hours is possible for turbocompressors, depending on the operating conditions. To enable Klüber Summit Supra 26 N achieve this oil service life it is indispensable to perform an oil condition monitoring every six months. Without prior oil analysis no conclusion can be drawn on the oil's suitability for further use. Klüber Summit Supra oils can be mixed with other polyglycol oils and the Klüber Summit Ultima series. The products are not miscible with mineral oils and synthetic hydrocarbon oils.

Klübersynth GEM 4 N was specially developed for the lubrication of spur, bevel, hypoid and planetary gears that are subject to high loads. Such gears are frequently used in the wind, steel, mining and sugar industries. It is also used for the lubrication of standard worm gears as defined in DIN 3996. Klübersynth GEM 4 N can also be used for the lubrication of plain and rolling bearings, all kinds of toothed couplings, chains, guideways, joints, spindles and pumps, especially in applications where the equipment is exposed to elevated temperatures or pronounced temperature fluctuations.

Klüberfluid C-F 3 S ULTRA is primarily used for spray lubrication of large gear rim/pinion drives. It can be used with all gear sizes and power ratings. A peripheral speed of 10 m/s should however not be exceeded. Such drives are primilary found in rotary kilns, tube mills, drums and similar machinery used in the cement, lime, gypsum, mining and chemical industries as well as in coal-fired power stations. Due to its good compatibility, Klüberalfa MR 3 may be used in combination with most materials, e.g. leather, textile or plastic, in car interiors or on the car body. Klüberalfa MR 3 is compatible with most thermoplastics or thermosetting plastics used, for example, in dashboards, seat and sunroof sliding rails, arm rests, seat adjustment mechanisms, door and sunroof seals. Perfluorinated polyether oils are generally regarded as neutral towards elastomers and plastics (possible exception: highly fluorinated rubber). Nevertheless we recommend testing compatibility with the material to be used, especially prior to series application.
