The Alpha SP 320 is recommended for the lubrication of industrial gear boxes using forced circulation or splash and oil bath lubrication. They may be used for the lubrication of spur and helical gears and in some lightly loaded worm type gear applications. They have very good viscosity characteristics to ensure starting torques are not excessively high in cold operating conditions.

The additives in Castrol Alpha SP 320 are compatible with the ferrous and non-ferrous metals used in industrial gear units. The Alpha SP 320 is compatible with the most common types of seal materials.

Alphasyn PG gear oils are primarily intended for use in worm reduction gear boxes, where the low coefficient of friction of the PAG base fluid improves efficiency and consequently reduces power consumption and operating temperatures. This is particularly important in applications where sliding contact is high. The use of a PAG base stock provides inherently high Viscosity Index (VI) and low pour points making these products suitable for use over a wide temperature range. Alphasyn PG meets the requirements of most OEM’s that allow the use of PAG based gear oils.

The use of a PAG base stock provides inherently high Viscosity Index (VI) and low pour points making these products suitable for use over a wide temperature range. The Alphasyn T range has been formulated for use in most types of light to medium duty enclosed gear systems but should not be used for heavy or shock loaded systems. Alphasyn T is also suitable for bearings and circulatory systems operating at high temperatures. Alphasyn T is suitable for various applications where a lubricating oil is used under high temperatures, e.g. from hydraulic systems through to large, slow moving gears. All products in the Alphasyn T range have very low pour points and excellent viscosity and temperature characteristics, allowing their use in both low and high temperature applications. The Alphasyn T range is fully compatible with nitrile, silicone and fluropolymer seal materials.

The Optigear Synthetic 800 range is especially suited to reservoirs and circulation systems operating at high temperatures because of heat generated in severe service or high temperatures in the application. Optigear Synthetic 800 are intended for all types of heavily loaded gears including spur, bevel and worm gears. Although well suited for all types of gearing and bearings, the Optigear Synthetic 800 range is particularly effective in controlling wear and reducing friction between sliding surfaces.
