GLEITMO 585 M field of applications:

GLEITMO 585 M is used for heavy-duty bearings and lubrication points of all types. It is also suitable for lubrication points subject to the risk of fretting corrosion or exposed to oscillatory movements or vibration. GLEITMO 585 M is excellently suited for the lubrication of universal-joint shafts. Owing to the white coloration, GLEITMO 585 M is also used in applications involving clean conditions, amongst others in textile and paper processing as well as filling and packaging machines.

If used in roller bearings fill up the free space in bearing and housing only to approximately 30 to 50 % with GLEITMO 585 M. Regarding bearings which only rotate very slowly the housing can be filled entirely with GLEITMO 585 M. GLEITMO 585 M can be pumped with automatic lubrication devices. Spheerol LMM grease is suitable for most types of bearing and a wide range of other industrial applications, which require a molybdenum disulphide grease, including grease lubricated gears. Spheerol LMM may be used in plain and rolling element bearings, including heavily loaded bearings at low and medium speeds, and those subject to shock loading and excessive vibrations.

The incorporation of solid lubricant in Spheerol LMM greases makes this grease particularly suited for the lubrication of reciprocating and sliding motion elements, where the prevention of scuffing and fretting is desirable. Typical applications include pivot pins, cams, screws, splined shafts, slides, flexible joints (ball, universal, CV joints etc). It is important to ensure that none of the flushing oil remains in the gearbox. When refilling the gearbox with Shell Gadus S5 V142W every precaution should be taken to ensure complete cleanliness. For optimum performance from both gearbox and lubricant, only the amount recommended by the gearbox manufacturer should be used.
• Paints. High quality red lead or epoxy resin paints are recommended for use in contact with Shell Gadus S5 V142W, as the synthetic polyglycol component will tend to attack certain conventional paints.
• Seals. Shell Gadus S5 V142W may be used satisfactorily with all normal seal materials. Leather seals are not recommended as the natural fats tend to be removed, leaving the seals thin and brittle.

Shell Gadus S5 V142W is a synthetic, semi-fluid gear lubricant developed to meet the highest requirements of industrial gearboxes allowing long life trouble free operation.
