Application of Houghto-Clean 510

Houghto-Clean 510 has been formulated for manual and and immersion cleaning applications as an alternative to to halogenated and other user and environmentally and unacceptable solvent cleaners.

Houhto-Clean 510 has been formulated has to remove low viscosity neat oils, greases, waxes and similar type soils from ferrous and non-ferrous metals, solvent resistant composites plastics and elastomers.

Degreasing of parts before assembly or welding is not necessary. Cleaned surfaces are left with a virtually imperceptible light coating which can provide temporary corrosion pretection of ferrous metals.

Houghton Macron EDM 110 Neat Oil for Spark Erosion 

MACRON EDM 110 is based on aliphatic hydrocarbons with very low content of aromatics for improved working conditions. High dielectric strength and good flushing properties contribute to a high removal capacity.

Houghton Rust Veto DW 162 (formerly Shell Ensis DW 162)

Short-term rust inhibitor with dewatering capacity for short protection duration

Rust Veto DW 162 is a rust inhibitor with a short protective duration suitable for protection during storage or use of metal surfaces that are susceptible to corrosion. Rust Veto DW 162 is a solvent-based anti-corrosion agent with water-displacing properties. It protects metal surfaces against the harmful effects of moisture, air, detergents and other contaminants. Rust Veto DW 162 quickly expels water, moisture and other contaminants from the surfaces to be protected.

Main features of Houghton Rust Veto DW 162 (formerly Shell Ensis DW 162) are:

• + Protection duration: Indoor: 2 weeks to 1 month and Outdoor (under roof): not recommended

Houghton Garia 601 M-22

It is based on hydro treated mineral oils with a low aromatic content.It's formulated to a combination of polar, extreme pressure and anti-wear additives.

Properties

Its composition gives the oil high load carrying properties. Its high additive content and controlled extreme pressure properties allow high rates of metal removal, which results in reduced machining costs.

The oil provides good tool life and excellent surface finish of the machined work pieces. Efficient anti mist additives reduce mist in the air.

Due to its active sulphur content, the oil may discolor yellow metals.

Application

Garia 601 M-22 is recommended for machining high alloyed steels, stainless, heat resistant or austenitic steels and aluminum or magnesium alloys. The oil gives excellent results with many difficult operations such as broaching, deep-hole drilling, tapping, shaping or shaving of gears.

Houghton Garia 405 M-32

Garia 405 M-32 is a neat cutting oil. It is commonly used for machining higher alloyed steels, aluminum and magnesium alloys.

Properties

Garia 405 M-32 is a chlorine free product. It is free of heavy metals and has a low aromatic content. It contains a well balanced combination of polar, extreme pressure and antiwear additives which give the oil high load carrying properties.

Due to its active sulphur content, the oil may discolor yellow metals.

Applications

Garia 405 M-32 is recommended for general machining operations such as turning, drilling and gear hobbing on steel of low to medium tensile strength, aluminum and magnesium alloys. It is also suitable for grinding where higher viscosity is required, e.g. thread grinding.

Houghton Ensis DW 1262 (formerly Shell Ensis RX)

Ensis DW1262 is a rust inhibitor with drainage properties for medium protection

Ensis DW 1262 is a rust inhibitor with a medium-term protection (up to 12 months in storage). Ensis DW 1262 is a solvent-based anti-rust agent with de-watering properties that, after evaporation of the solvent, leaves a temporary waxy film on the metal surfaces to be protected. Ensis DW 1262 protects metal parts in an efficient way against the harmful effects of humidity, air, detergents and other contaminants. Ensis DW 1262 can be applied by means of dipping or spraying.

QH PRESSMAX™ VE 2660 is an evaporative product for stamping and drawing of thin non-ferrous and ferrous materials. The product does not leave a residual film or react with paint. Degreasing of parts before assembly or welding is not necessary. QH PRESSMAX™ VE 2660 is mainly used for non ferrous materials. .

Houghton Ensis Engine Oil 30 (previous Shell Ensis Engine Oil 30)

Compatible rust preventive engine oil 30.

Ensis Engine Oil 30 is oil specially formulated to provide long-term internal protection of gasoline and diesel engines.

Most important Properties of Houghton Ensis Engine Oil 30 (previous Shell Ensis Engine Oil 30) are:

Houghton Dromus B

Water miscible metalworking fluid.

Houghton Dromus B is a general purpose soluble oil for light to moderate duty machining on a wide range of materials.

It is free from biocides.

Properties:

Dromus B is a high mineral oil content soluble oil for easy to medium duty machining, including grinding, on a wide variety of materials including ferrous as well as nonferrous metals.

Recommendations for use: General machining 6 - 8 %, Severe cutting operations 8 - 12 %.

Water miscible metalworking fluid.

Properties

Hocut 3220 is a high quality, general-purpose metalworking fluid for easy to medium duty applications on ferrous metals.

Applications:

It is recommended for easy to medium duty operations on cast iron and (low to medium alloyed) ferrous metals.

It is designed to be used on CNC machine tools, given its excellent detergent, and high wetting properties.

Hocut 3220 is suitable for all removal and grinding operations on stand-alone machines and in central systems.

Hocut 3220 can be used over a broad water hardness range. Recommendations for use: General machining.

Houghton 4444 previous Sitala D 201.03 and Adrana D 601.01

Hocut 4444 is a high quality water miscible coolant for general machining of steel and aluminum alloys.

Recommended usage levels for Houghton Hocut 4444 are:

• + Low to Medium Machining: 8 - 10%

HOCUT 4444 is recommended for machining low to medium materials, including high stress machining, from a variety of materials, including aluminum alloys, fiber composites, but also iron alloys.

Houghton Garia 603 S-15 

Neat Cutting Oil for Broaching and Severe Machining.

GARIA 603 S-15 is based on hydro treated mineral oil with low aromatic content. A combination of polar, extreme pressure and anti-wear additives provide the oil with high load carrying properties. The oil provides good surface finish of the machined work pieces.

GARIA 603 S-15 contains active sulphur and may discolour yellow metals.

The oil is zinc and chlorine free.

Applications:

GARIA 603 S-15 is a high performance product for severe operations as well as for difficult to machine materials.

GARIA 603 S-15 is designed for deep drilling with BT A. Ejector and gun drills. The oil has proven performance for severe broaching e.g. for internal broching of planetary gear rings.

Houghton Adrana A 3601.04

A water miscible metalworking fluid.

Properties

It is recommended for heavy-duty machining operations on low silicon content aluminium and is free of amines, boric acid, nitrite, chlorine and formaldehyde releasers.

Applications

Metals: “dirty” metals, such as cast iron.

• Usage: a wide range of machines, such as Kingsburys, Bullards, bar machines, lathes, chuckers, and centerless and cylindrical grinders.

• Processes: machining and grinding.

• Longer sump life.

• Heavy-duty.

• Non-foaming.

HOUGHTON HOCUT 5019

Water soluble metalworking fluid

Application HOUGHTON HOCUT 5019

HOCUT 5019 is recommended for grinding of cemented tungsten carbide tools where cobalt is used as a binder. The synthetic formula contains a special additive package to prevent dissolution of cobalt by the coolant also contains polymer lubricity additives to improve wheel life and prevent dry evaporation residues on machines. A minimum concentration of 5% is recommended.

Houghton MWS Additive AF 2290

MWS Additive AF 2290 is an effective defoamer for water-containing mineral oils and mineral oil-free cooling lubricants. 

Properties

MWS Additive AF 2290 is usually at a concentration of 0.01 - 0.02% . 

Before each new addition is necessary to wait until a thorough mixing has occurred.

The defoamers should be added as long as until a sufficient foam collapse occurred (use concentration max. 0.05%). 

The defoamer is premixed with water or used as an emulsion.

Houghton Sitala A 400

A new generation of amine and boric acid-free water-miscible metalworking fluids, recommended for general machining on a wide range of metals including all kind of Aluminium alloys.

SITALA A 400 is a medium duty emulsifiable, boron and amine-free metalworking fluid forming a stable macroemulsion based on high quality mineral oil and polar lubricity additives.

Applications:

SITALA A 400 is recommended for medium machining and grinding operations on a wide range of material including, cast iron, low to medium alloyed steels and aluminium. A non-staining, low alkalinity formula also makes it suitable for machining yellow metals.

The product is designed for soft to medium hardness and for use in single sump machines.

It is not normally used in large central systems.

Adrana A 2859 has now been removed from the range and can best be replaced by Hocut 4444. It is wise to contact us and discuss the application.
