  • Houghton Garia 405 M-32

    Houghton Garia 405 M-32

Garia 405 M-32 is a neat cutting oil. It is commonly used for machining higher alloyed steels, aluminum and magnesium alloys.

    Properties

Garia 405 M-32 is a chlorine free product. It is free of heavy metals and has a low aromatic content. It contains a well balanced combination of polar, extreme pressure and antiwear additives which give the oil high load carrying properties.

Due to its active sulphur content, the oil may discolor yellow metals.

    Applications

Garia 405 M-32 is recommended for general machining operations such as turning, drilling and gear hobbing on steel of low to medium tensile strength, aluminum and magnesium alloys. It is also suitable for grinding where higher viscosity is required, e.g. thread grinding.

Quaker Houghton are two brands, aren't they?

Quaker and Houghton have merged to form Quaker Houghton. They were already two very big players in metalworking fluids and now together they are the world's largest producer of metalworking fluids.

Where does the strength of Quaker Houghton products lie?

They have a very extensive portfolio and a lot of experience and large R&D capacity. This allows them to offer metalworking fluids for Aerospace, Industry, Forming Industry and Metal Protection. The recent merger has created an overlap in the portfolio of these two giants. Thus, a portfolio realignment with name changes is to be expected.

What metalworking operations do you focus on?

OlieOnline focuses most on the following operations: Drilling, metal preservation / anti-corrosion, EDM spark machining, Grinding, honing, milling, MQL (minimum lubrication), reaming, tapping and turning. Solutions can be found with water miscible or pure oils. The right solution depends on your application.
